Hi,
There has been progress on this on the reviewboard with the timing
translation patch. There are also a few posts I have detailing the steps to
be done:
- translation
- import microcode "code" from simple cpu/o3 to inorder cpu

Please check those steps on the mailing list and if you are interesting in
contributing, send a mail to gem5-dev and we can help further.

I'm not sure of any academic/open-source contribution progress, but I'd
like to see some of my personal updates pushed to the tree in the next few
months. Unfortunately, I can't promise that quite yet as any extra work
I've done past my graduation has to be reviewed by the "legal" guys first.

Thanks,
Korey
