Hi, Well, I tried after changing fs.py in configs directory but it showed no difference in the m5out/config.ini.  Then I changed ArmSystem.py and recompiled and it did show a change in m5out/config.ini. But still the problem is with adding symbols to the kernel (e.g. m5struct.diff).  Since this is gem5 specific and looks like requiring some additional/different steps for that.  Also links and commands given in gem5 documentation require updates and are not working as defined. So, Please if you can help me and describe the steps for that?  Thanks so much Ali. I appreciate your help. You can have gem5 create an ever on linux's __switch_to function and see what thread is running on which core by inspecting some kernel data structures.
