I'm using the m5-mcpat-parse.py parser, but I confirm it is a lot outdated. At least this parser is recommended by Li, creator of McPAT (see the README).
m5-mcpat.pl is easier to understand, but it seems to work with Alpha. Taking the ARM_A9_2000.xml as basis is usefull. But you should configure McPAT as your GEM5 model is configured, of course!
