Where is your L3 connected and how is the system architecture organized?

Subject: Re: [gem5-users] kernel error in FS

Dear Ali

I also used the tracediff for debugging, But it keeps run without termination
when I using l3cahce option.

So can you or anybody give some advice on the directions of debugging this
issue?
Thanks very much.

Have you made any changes to the simulator? It seems like something is going
wrong with the coherence protocol. What version are you running?

With the atomic CPU you should be able to trace the execution with and without
the L3 cache and see where they diverge using the tracediff script in the util
directory.

Dear all,

I'm trying to build a target system with alpha atomic cpu and 3-level cache,
which boots linux system on it under Full System environment. But I got a linux
kernel error "kernel panic - not syncing: vas: unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(3,1)" when I set the 3rd level cache; which it works well with
only 2 levels of cache.

Does anyone came up with this issue? What aspect should I look into in order to
solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!
