Hi Lu,

There are obviously many ways of achieving a bandwidth of 5GByte/s, but one
example would be to set --sys-clock to 700 Mhz (~1.43 ns per clock period), and
assuming 64 byte transactions you would then get 64 / 8 + 1 cycles per
transaction, hence 64 bytes per 9 cycles or ~12.86 ns, which gives you ~4.98
Gbyte/s.

Note that the bus is effectively a crossbar, so you have this bandwidth per
master/slave pair.

Andreas

Subject: [gem5-users] how to change the speed of bus

Hi all,

I'm trying to modify the speed of bus. I'm running the benchmark on full system
mode, and the bus speed I need is 5GB/s.

In the "Bus.py" file, there are only two parameters that can be modified:

header_cycles=Param.Cycles(1, "cycles of overhead per transaction")
width=Param.Unsigned (8, "bus width(bytes)")

Can anyone tell me that is that possible to get a bus with speed of 5GB/s by
modifying the "Bus.py"?

Thanks in advance,

Lu
