Hi Hyukjoong,

The traffic generator has a TRACE state that is able to play back packet
traces. Have a look at
http://www.gem5.org/General_Memory_System#Traffic_analysis_and_memory_trace_capture

There is an example in the regressions tests. See
http://grok.gem5.org/xref/gem5/tests/quick/se/70.tgen/tgen-simple-mem.cfg

When it comes to the actual contents of the trace file, it needs to be in the
protobuf encoded format. There is an example script in
util/encode_packet_trace.py, and I would suggest to modify that to fit your
needs.

Good luck.

Andreas

Subject: [gem5-users] Trafficgen instruction

Hi,

I have a simple question about trafficgen on gem5.

I made similar memory behavior trace like

Read/write addr size tick

r 1242888 64 10000000

So, I wanna insert this trace into trafficgen (definitely, I think I need to
parse this trace into trafficgen-fit format), but I cannot find any instruction
to run trafficgen.

If some of you have a answer about this, please let me know.

Thanks,

-Hyukjoong
