Dear all,

I have saw a lot of mails talking about the hang problem of 4 cores booting in
X86 FS mode, when someone uses x86_64-vmlinux-2.6.22.29.smp kernel and parsec
image (or even the linux-86.img from gem5 website) file with the latest stable
gem5 version. The booting process merely hang after it brought 4 cores, with
messages like these:
……
Fake M5 x86_64 CPU stepping 01
Brought up 4 CPUs
<stop here>

Is the problem related to image file? What files within the image are that
important in the disk image that mismatching of those seams causes failure of
supporting more cores. Or is this a kernel problem? Could anybody give a link
for workable 2.6.22.29 kernel? How you guys solve this problems?

Chao
