This is a situation where tracediff (in the util directory) is really
useful.  If you run both the simple and detailed models under
tracediff with flags like "--trace-flags=Exec,-ExecTicks" then it
should tell you exactly where the execution of the two models
diverges.  See the comments at the top of util/tracediff for
documentation on how to use it.
