you will just need to download the appropriate palcode and apply our linux
patches and recompile for a >4 cpu platform.  if you don't want to build
your own crosstool, you can download one on our download page for the
recompilation.

For question 3, if all you want is a larger disk image, there are simpler
ways to do it, see here:

#1 is in my opinion the easiest way to get a larger image.
