Thank you all. The problem is that the vdi file of the Debian OS in virtual machine is huge, more than 1.7G, and I can't find a good place to make it to be downloaded.
The good news is that one of my friend in my lab compiled it without error so we can move on turning to his machine for a while. When I tried the newest version as Ali Saidi's kind suggestion, I encountered another problem. I think that is because I used the latest unstable(2.0_beta6) version, which is under developing in recent hours. However, the errors are following and I don't think they are the same problem as previous ones: *lium...@debian:~/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84$ ild/ALPHA_SE/m5.debug* > scons: Reading SConscript files ... > .hg directory not found > Checking for leading underscore in global variables...no > Checking for C header file Python.h... yes > Checking for C library pthread... yes > Checking for C library dl... yes > Checking for C library util... yes > Checking for C library m... yes > Checking for C library python2.5... yes > Checking for accept(0,0,0) in C++ library None... yes > Checking for zlibVersion() in C++ library z... yes > Checking for C header file fenv.h... yes > Reading /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/src/cpu/ozone/SConsopts > Reading /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/src/cpu/o3/SConsopts > Reading /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/src/cpu/inorder/SConsopts > Reading /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/src/cpu/simple/SConsopts > Reading /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/src/arch/alpha/SConsopts > Reading /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/src/arch/x86/SConsopts > Reading /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/src/arch/mips/SConsopts > Reading /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/src/arch/sparc/SConsopts > Building in /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/build/ALPHA_SE > Variables file /home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/build/variables/ALPHA_SE > not found, > using defaults in build_opts/ALPHA_SE > KeyError: 'HG_INFO': > File "/home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/SConstruct", line 893: > exports = 'env') > File "/usr/lib/scons/SCons/Script/SConscript.py", line 596: > return apply(method, args, kw) > File "/usr/lib/scons/SCons/Script/SConscript.py", line 533: > return apply(_SConscript, [self.fs,] + files, subst_kw) > File "/usr/lib/scons/SCons/Script/SConscript.py", line 256: > exec _file_ in call_stack[-1].globals > File "/home/liuml07/proj/m5-4ed2100efa84/build/ALPHA_SE/SConscript", line > 365: > defines_info = [ Value(build_env), Value(env['HG_INFO']) ] > File "/usr/lib/scons/SCons/Environment.py", line 368: > return self._dict[key] > I think you guys are kindly, indeed. 2009/3/5 nathan binkert <[email protected]> > Another option is, if your virtual machine is indeed just for M5, if > you're willing, you could tar it up and put it somewhere that I can > get to it.
