You need to figure out why the m5 panic pseudo instruction is being  
executed. This happens when either the kernel or the console call  
their version of panic, however normally there is some text to  
accompany it. Try enabling some trace flags and see where the panic is  
coming from or recompile your kernel and add a delay before the panic  
is called (perhaps the serial port hasn't had enough time to spit out  
the data yet).
