Biswabandan, The old version couldn't really plug in coherence protocols either. We tried to seperate the protocol from the inner-working of the cache, but it wasn't that useful, that is why the code was removed and the caches were re-written. If you want to research different coherence protocols you're either going to have to implement them yourself, try using the Ruby support in M5, or another strategy.
