The o3 CPU fetches an entire cache block an issues instructions out of it. Since it's always an entire block, the offset is always 0.

Hi all,

I found that when an instruction fetches for a block. I tried to fetch the block offset within the block and found it to be always 0 (zero).

While its not the case for data cache.

I just used extractBlkOffset() for extracting the block offset when a block is accessed for a packet.

Can anybody tell me the reason why it is so..?

Kindly help.
