Hi, Please check here https://wiki.eclipse.org/Virgo/Future the mapping between different Virgo releases to Gemini Web. Gemini Web 3.0.x is compatible only with Virgo 3.7/4.0
You mentioned that you use Virgo Server for Apache Tomcat (3.0.1.RELEASE). If that's the case then Gemini Web 3.0.x is not compatible with this Virgo version.
