Is it a standard or isn't it?

Without reading a couple of other documents, I can't determine whether there
are any character set restrictions on the new HNP field.
I ask because I happen to live at 1C/9 Something Road (that is the standard
typography here in NZ for subdivided properties). Is such a syntax allowed
by HNP?
