It's been too long since I did this for me to be able to respond usefully to your comments, but it appears as though you have covered most of the issues well. Regarding snake oil, I re-read the new 1.3.3.3 and I think that the minor additions you've made there help. I think that my objection may have been largely as a result of not having sufficient context to understand in combination with what is a somewhat abstract description.
