Hello, Can the php part of Sam Broadcaster (4.3.6) work with php5? The documentation I've seen only mentions php4. Is there a move to go php5. We run a station on a college campus and the network administrators use php5. Thanks, Doug Michael www.kdvc.org From [email protected] Fri Nov 21 19:02:31 2008 From: [email protected] (James Henline) Date: Fri Nov 21 20:20:48 2008 Subject: [General-discussion] Sam and PHP5 In-Reply-To: <[email protected]> References: <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]>
It does work with PHP5, but remember that the default website is meant as a starting off point, not a full tested and developed site, so with that in mind there may be vulnerabilities and bugs we do not know about yet. It also requires the use of the Register Globals flag on, this can present a security risk if not properly used. For this reason many hosts do not allow this flag to be set to on. So yes it does work with PHP5 but it is meant as a guide only. James Henline.
