I am looking for a few opinions on the formatting of the Artist - Title when there is a "Featuring someone". I have always listed the featuring artist/singer on the Artist side but I have seen some site/listings that list the Featured person with the title of the song. The reason this really matters is for the DMCA and the rotation rules. I am currently listing the featured person in the artist field. Just looking for some comments. Thanks. I've found that from a rotation basis, including the featured artist in the song title helps with artist rotation, at least as I set and determine my rules. If you keep "feat Artist" in your artist field this can lead to artists being called out of sequence because "A feat ZZ" is not anything like "A feat XX" This allows "A" to be played twice despite song rotation rules. Unfortunately placing it in the song title field has lead to some issue when it came to holiday music. Jingle bells was heard a few times too many this past year because of all the duets etc. The best answer might be just be consistent so you can set your rules so they best work for you and your needs. For me, it's best in the song title. The OwnDog is listening to "C.c. Rider" by Ray Charles from the CD "Best of Blues". Who you listening to?
