Salam, First of all, sorry for the delay about this report. Also, it's just a _mini_ report as the subject says. I tried Arabbix for almost an hour only (the story follows) and here's some feedback: 1- Overall, the distro is really fast and cool. It took less than a minute to fully boot on a PIII+512MB machine, and some less seconds on a PIV+256MB with excellent H/W detection. 2- Once booted, if you press F2 and back to F2, you'll get a red background only, but no image. 3- Trying to pass the 'morphix toram' doesn't work at all. i tried it on three machines (different configs) 4- While booting, the messages shows always complained about /proc/splash missing. Also, only a Compaq Evo (PIV), the first message appears:'Only one cpu found.', which could mean it can't take advantage of PIV's Hyperthredding feature. 5. Once booted into the graphical interface, it looks really amazing. One you start using the applications... 6. GAIM, which is fully Arabized, shows the text as boxes (wrong charset of .po file), and XChat isn't fully Arabic too. Both of them need to be right-to-left.
Well, really sorry, but I was so STUPID to delete the new version of the .iso image, instead of the old one. Also, I gave the CD I burned to a friend to give it a test (after I recognized what I did) and couldn't get hold of him to continue testing it :( Anyway, I would really like to test it more but seems like I'll wait till the upcoming version. Apologies... Ossama __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo!
