What is your soundcard being recognized as at boot? (Example: "dmesg | more") Is your soundcard supported? Is the appropriate module being inserted? If not, find the appropriate driver and try "insmod /lib/modules/2.x.x.x.x/misc/sound.o" or somesuch. I haven't used Caldera so I'm not sure about your particular setup. I use RedHat 6.2 and Debian 2.2. Also, I use Gnome instead of KDE. Any KDE users out there that can help out? I had to read a british journal to find a Baton Rouge URL !(Linux Format). I am a beginning linuxer, struggling with a perceived steep learning curve. I have installed eDesktop and everything works except sound. I also installed GNOME from Helixcode but am now trying to figure out how I can add that as an option to the KDE login manager. Any help, o local gurus ??? Bart from Thibodaux, LA ================================================ BRLUG - The Baton Rouge Linux User Group Visit http://www.brlug.net for more information.
