I've been working steadily on the links page, www.brlug.net/links.php3. I'm open to submissions. I'm slowly developing a set of "console app" sites for people who don't need no steenking gui. Aside from "vi" and "emacs", I'd like to know what folks are using and what it can get done. For example, I've found a console based icq client that does everything but chat and swap files. As far as "instant messaging", it does the job. Send me some samples for this category, additions to existing categories, and suggestions for new categories with a couple of sites to start them.

I've been thinking a little about the new LUG coordinator. I think it's obvious looking around the room that we've got decades of *nix experience and knowledge lying dormant every first Monday at 6:00. We've got people who could be more-than-capable speakers. We've got a few go-getters who could coordinate this beast and make it continue to thrive. I'd like to think those two needs would not have to be met by the same three or four people. If you're interested, give it some thought. I, for one, am thinking about the coordinator or asst. coord. position, but I'd be a lot less inclined to present so much if I took the job.
