I use the Linuxcare Bootable Business Card, and it works great. It includes XFree86, ssh, networking, and a whole bunch of recovery utilities. It's not a floppy image, it's a CD-ROM .iso image, but if you're lucky enough to receive some from Linuxcare, you get the business-card sized CDs which are really neat.
As far as backup, I haven't been able to find any good Open Source backup suites. By suite, I mean something that will handle all of the things like tape changers, catalog creation, scheduling, and easy restoring. I've managed to get by by scripting my own, but it would be nice to have something with a decent interface. I've looked at BRU and Arkeia, but aside from the fact that they're not free, they still didn't provide enough usefulness to me to be worth it. Amanda looks like it may work well, but I dislike the notion of installing extra daemons on backup clients. I'm curious to know if anyone has come across anything interesting. -Tim On Wed, 2001-10-31 at 09:50, John Hebert wrote: > Good idea, Choppy.
