I suggest testing the stick on another computer before deciding
it is good and the computer uncooperative.  Usually you can run
faster memory slower with no problem.    Would hate to find a
512BG stick bad, but it would be good to check it out, and, if it
is bad, return it before the warranty expires.
One of the problems I had with the Linux box was a bad stick,
only 128 MB.  Unfortunately the warranties I had were long gone
when the problem was identified.  Have replacement memory and
replacement CPU on the way.  On the advice of the local shop, I
paid a few bucks more and got the shop's choice, Micron.
