Perhaps, since I am not now in business, nor do I plan in the
future to engage in any computer-related business, a few
words are in order.

I think it is a fine idea for BRLUG to be a contact location, both
live in meetings, and via a list of consultants with links to their
web sites. I do hope the focus of the LUG remains on sharing
expertise, news, and helping one another. I don't mind if someone
needing Linux expertise posts a message describing the need
and inviting providers to contact via E-mail, telephone, etc.

I do hope we can avoid going the way of several computer magazines
which seem so heavily weighted to concerns doing business on the
web that individual non-commercial techies and home hobby users
get lost in the shuffle. I do want to know about what is new in the
Linux world, be able to get advice on what is ready for prime time,
and what would be a research project suitable for a Ph.D. thesis.
I have done a few of the latter and will let the youth who don't need
sleep at night enjoy them.

Choppy
