Good suggestion. I'd be interested in learning more about tuning my box. For instance, what kinds of stuff can I do without on my box? RedHat installs the kitchen and bathroom sinks, and this takes up a lot of space on my laptop's drive.
Also, does installing Gnome mean that the Gnome guts are running all the time? Let's say I wanna use BlackBox but run Gaim (Gnome AIM clone) sometimes.
