John Everything you say is correct, BUT, imagine yourself a 50+ , non-techie, that has decided to get on the internet. You talk to your neighbors and relatives, learn about Windows and Mac computers. You investigate the difference, and finds that the Mac is much more costly and has very little software compared to the MS OS. Then when you check to find out where to get help from that same bunch of neighbors and relatives, you find out only maybe one out of 100 (my guess) even know how to use the Mac. Which computer are you going to buy? And Dustin, the concept that we are a Microsoft club is widely held, but out name is CC COMPUTER Club, and that is the OS we are asked to teach, because that is what the people have. We need more Linux users to join our club and share their knowledge so we could have other classes available. I started with an Atari, and the Atari GUI was up and running before Windows ever was, but Atari had no BG to push them. If Apple would have let anyone program for their computers, we may have never heard of MS. Remember Big Blue had their own OS that could not get accepted. If IBM and their "expertise" in computers couldn't do it don't blame everything on MS, they did what they needed to do to get people using the computer. I think that the way Linux is going by companies bringing out ease of use OS such as Mandrake, and companies that will sell computers with out an OS such as WalMart, MS will have some competition in the near future.
