Usually there is a "md5sum*" text file that lists the
checksums for most any Linux/UNIX software package at
FTP sites. I recommend that anytime you download a
distro that you also download the checksum file for
it.

You check the checksum by running "md5sum filename".
It'll churn for awhile, then spit back a checksum. It
should match the checksum from the original publisher.
I can't find the checksums on Mandrake's site, but
they are there in the mirrors. It seems to make more
sense to make em easily available on Mandrake's
download page.

Anybody have a URL to the "official" Mandrake
checksum?
