Don't-touch-the-hard-drive Run-off-of-floppy or Run-off-of-CDROM Linux
Distributions, you might want to look here:

The page is reorganizing, so it's a little confusing now. The floppy based
stuff starts around 150, and the CDROMs are after that. There are a few others
scattered around the page (see Special Purpose and Secured Distributions). And
there are even zip drives based distros. I have tried several of the floppy,
and almost all of the CDROM distros. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
The previous message lists my personal favorites.
