I think VNC by bell labs lets one do this. There is another commercial product which does much the same thing. One benifit to the way Dusin suggested is that one does not have to install any strange sys software, and the associated security problems with VNC.
VNC for win32 allows remote viewing and control of desktop. I have used it, and its is cool. The desktop user can opt out for remote control on the fly. It helps, becasue just like an airplane dual controal can lead to conflicts. For example, I would move the mouse left, and they would move it left. ARG!
