Hi All, While I was at the last ComputerSheaux, I ran into an old Ham radio buddy of mine. We've known each other for SOOO long, we BOTH forgot how long it's been. Hihi. (LOL!)
I got "burned out" on ham radio several years ago, from some "jerks" stateside in a ham radio national organization ), I was in, (10-10 International So, I packed all my radio gear up and got off the "bands" and got into Linux. Well, John got me "fired up" again about ham radio and I have unpacked some of the gear and will be getting back into"radio" and sort of putting Linux away for awhile. There is a local bunch on 444.900 mhz. that has gotten my attention with "technical" discussions, tom-foolery, antenna building, chasing distant stations (Europe, tiny Pacific islands, other exotic places on 6 meter single-side band, etc. I'm even dragged out my Kenwood "twins" to get back on HF radio, LOL. I even have plans to help out with the local SkyWarn activities when we have "bad weather" (wx). I will continue to be the SBLUG Board of Directors rep to the ComputerSheaux. But my activities in the local linux group will be somewhat dimminished. 73's (Best regards), "Buck", KA5LQJ
