No pictures, although you'd need a telephoto crank attachment to get a good
shot of the liquid nitrogen tanks at the end of each leg of the machine, 4km
away from the control building. And yes, they have a control room with lots
of monitors and wall displays, and remote controls for remote cameras and
process controls for all sorts of remote switches and measuring devices.
Quite an ordinary control room actually. Its a real yawner when you have to
wait for the seismic wave action in the Gulf of Mexico to subside in order
to get good readings from the machine. Yes, yes, quite ordinary. The real
action is in the lecture hall where demonstrations of the technology and
science are setup. Tesla coils, plasma tubes, spectrum analysis devices and
other unidentifiable but no less interesting bits of scientific hardware.
