This is a great thing yall are doing over there. If you need any input or have any questions about Linux usage in the library, feel free to ask. (Speaking of Linux in the library, as we speak I'm trying to setup a linux box as a samba server with a "sudo-printer" that prints your document to ghostscript and converts your document to a PDF file. Just doing my part to try to use open source to save the library a buck or two(hundred))
I have been trying to get some linux distrubutions on the shelves, but the people who are in the right place to make this happen would probably be a little hesitant to do so. A lot of the problem of getting linux into libraries is trying to find someone in the right position of authority and the right attitude to make it happen. Also, I know that Russ Adams at the school board administration department here in vermilion parish is fixing to use the K12LTSP server to push thin clients in the main office because their program that they use is java based and can run on linux. Last time I went over there I helped him setup the K12LTSP server into a Mosix cluster to really have some horse power pushing those terminals! _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
