I've been using it to access my webserver remotely, which is running KDE.

I had experimented with Micro Images X on a Windows box and was not very
impressed with the quality of the output and the occassional screen freeze.

My hats off to the Cygwin developers, great job, very useable application.

I had an instructor at school tell me how he liked having a bash shell 
available on his Windows box. He is using Cygwin just for the console.
