Adam,

That looks interesting. By the way, several weekends ago I got the LogiTech
wireless keyboard and wireless mouse from CompUSA for $50.00 after rebate.
They work great with Linux. I initially set them up under Window$ and then
booted LibraNet and everything worked! I hope this helps.

Subject: [brlug-general] linux for grandma using
oeone desktop

                Hello everyone,

My grandma's webtv died recently and i'm looking at a
replacement in the
form of a PC with wireless keyboard/mouse for her, and using
a scan
converter to hook it up to her 36" TV.
Looking over the various options of OS's, I think i've found
a solution.
I'm going to install redhat 7.3 and an amazingly simple
desktop solution
called oeone homebase desktop. It's like KDE or gnome but
this thing is
                amazingly simple. http://oeone.com/products/desktop.html
Check out the demo and screenshots. I tried it out on my
dad and he really
liked it. Check out what people are saying about it.
                http://oeone.com/products/testimonials.html

It was very easy to install on my test box. It was
something like
                links -source http://install.oeone.com/ |sh
                or something like that
I had the whole computer setup in about an hour.

                From their site:
HomeBase is not a Linux distribution in the traditional
sense but, rather, a
custom environment tailored for a user's needs. It combines
the best of both
worlds: an easy-to-use, intuitive operating environment for
those who want
to keep it simple; a quick, one-click access to a more
sophisticated
environment for experienced Linux users. While HomeBase
DESKTOP comes with a
full package of applications, it's simple to pull apps that
you're already
working with into the HomeBase environment.
