I am running Red Hat 6.1 under vmware 3.1.1. For some reason Red Hat isn't detecting the architecture properly:
# cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : ? model : 2 model name : 00/02 stepping : 4 cpu MHz : 1595.592822 cache size : 0 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no sep_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 19 21 22 mmx osfxsr kni 26 27 28 29 bogomips : 1042.02 This is causing a problem: # uname -pm i?86 unknown The problem here is that I can't seem to install rpms: # rpm -Uhv ravcore-8.9.0-6.i386.rpm package ravcore-8.9.0-6 is for a different architecture Is there a vmware solution, a Red Hat solution, or something else that can be done? I haven't seen this problem before. Regards, Dustin --- Dustin Puryear <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Puryear Information Technology Windows, UNIX, and IT Consulting http://www.puryear-it.com
