Mandrake 8.0 works wonderfully on my machine with the nvidia geforce II =
card but now I'm installing it on a machine with an ATI Rage 128 16 MB =
card and it stops at a blank screen in the X config section right after =
I choose the monitor and resolution settings. It correctly autodetects =
the card and I checked the mandrakesoft website and the card is =
supported in this version. I have both selected my exact monitor and =
modest resolution settings.....1024 X 768 , and I have also simply =
accepted all the default settings with the exact same symptoms......it =
just sits there as it is trying to test the configuration.
Any ideas? I will probably put Redhat 8.0 on the box and see how it =
does but I am really curious as to what is going on with a piece of =
hardware that is specifically on the hardware compatibility list.
Thanks in advance for any insight provided.
Cleve
