Xandros looks very nice, but it also seems a bit pricey. One of the things linux has going for it IMO is cost effectiveness. I noticed that the desktop version was 99 dollars, I didn't bother to check how much they wanted for the server product.
I'll stick with gentoo for now. Dont' get me wrong, I do think that what xandros has done is great. I've noticed that with lots of linux distros, the life cycle of a product is shorter than their competition in Redmond, which is not a good thing, not when you're charging money for it at least. I'll just stick with burning gentoo cd's and donating money when I get the chance. > > From: "Richards, Ed" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: 2002/10/24 Thu AM 11:19:22 EDT > To: "'[EMAIL PROTECTED]'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, > "'[email protected]'" > <[email protected]> > Subject: [brlug-general] Let The Revolution Begin! > > It looks like Xandros (www.xandros.com), in a very interesting alliance with > Codeweavers (www.codeweavers.com) <http://www.codeweavers.com)> , has > accomplished what Lindows.com had promised and has failed to deliver!
