Greetings all,

Just thought I'd let ya'll know that I got acm.cs.uop.edu working todayI =
talked to one of our unix administrators here and he had an interesting =
theory. He thought that perhaps php4 did not want to work with apache via =
apt-get was because one or the other was compiled with a different version =
of the other one and there was some incompatibility. So at work this =
morning (very light morning at the tech desk and the boss was away so the =
tech's will play) we logged into the server and we apt-get'd apache and =
apache-dev. We first tried to just compile apache but for some reason it =
said that the compiler wasn't valid, so we apt-gett'd the apache part. We =
downloaded php from apt-get source and compiled that separately (funny, no =
compile problems like apache said and it worked just fine). Compiling php4 =
on the machien worked fine, the apt-get'd one did not, which he tried, =
confused the heck out of him when apache seg faulted on us.=20

So its working (acm.cs.uop.edu) with apache, mysql, php, and all that fun =
stff.=20

Just thought I'd let the folks here who helpe dme out know.
