I went with some friends several times a few years ago. We had the naive=20
idea that we could buy a lot of good parts cheap, put together some=20
workable computers, and either use them ourselves or resell them. We had=20
planned to pool our funds to about $200. The 2-3 times we went, we found=20
old computers, on pallets that we could not examine, worth we thought maybe=
=20
$100 per pallet at best, and a lot of people bidding them up to $300-$400.=
=20
We never bought anything, and gave up on the enterprise. But, stuff at=20
auctions will be different every time. It's worth going to see what's=20
there, how they run it, etc. If you want to bid, you will need to get a=20
bidder's card and establish your credit (unless you want to pay cash)=20
before they start. There may be other things, like printers, that are worth=
=20
getting. And other stuff, like furniture, if you are into refinishing, that=
=20
could be a good buy. Let us know what you find.
