Also keep in mind that the Perks meetings are by no means formal. If
anyone wants to suggest a meetup at Perks or any other(*) location, feel
free to post a general invite to the list. Impromptu Perks meetings are
a good place to exchange CDs/books/ideas, or get some troubleshooting
help, especially for those with laptops.

(*) Other suitable locations would include libraries, your favorite
restaurant/grill, coffee houses, or any place that wouldn't mind a
gathering of geeks to pull a few tables together and chat. A few things
to keep in mind: try to choose a place that's friendly to our under-21
members, and where we won't crowd everyone out. I also ask people to
support our venue of choice by ordering something while you're there. A
cup of coffee or an appetizer will show the management of our venue that
we're not just freeloaders.
