The December meeting of the BRLUG Newbies and CCCC
Linux SIG groups will take place on Monday, December
16 at 6pm at the CCCC Office. For directions and event
details: http://www.brlug.net/event.php3?id=69

The topic of the meeting will be a demonstration of
The OpenCD Project's (http://opencd.sf.net) 1st
Edition CD. The OpenCD Project is a downloadable ISO
image suitable for burning to a CD that contains a
collection of the best free|open source software
applications available for proprietary operating
systems such as Microsoft Windows.

I would also like to discuss what kinds of efforts the
BRLUG Newbies and CCCC Linux SIG should be doing to
promote free|open source software such as Linux to
other CCCC members and the public at large.

One idea I've heard proposed earlier was to make
various Linux distributions available for free or
nominal charge with proceeds going to Clickers. This
will take a little work: determining what to copy,
creating labels, applying lables, making display, etc.
What do you think?

Please bring your enthusiasm and ideas!
