I could not have accomplished the upgrade and reload of my systems here at home yesterday were it not for the basic versatiliy of Linux and the way it does networking. My network is small by modern standards, but it was all-important to me. I tied to gether two windows boxes, one proprietary platform and two Linux boxes to backup and reload a windows box and get the proprietary platform running. It wouldn't load with Windows, because it was designed for its own version of Windows. It runs Linux like a scalded dog though! Linux is the most robust OS I have ever seen and I have used VM, VM-386, UNIX, IBM DOS, X-DOS, MS DOS, Windows (from 2.0 to XP), MAC and Linux.
Momma always said pretty is as pretty does. Linux does pretty well!
