Installing again does help.  Apt will install as many times as you ask it.  It 
keeps track of broken packages and never gives up.  Most of the install 
problems I've had were dependency issues and the second install fixed them 
because those packages that bobmed now have what they need.  On debian systems, 
dselect puts the broken packages up front so you can see what's wrong.  
Configuration is another story.
