About the Forum
On Wednesday April 30th, 2003, the Louisiana Technology Council (LTC) will
be hosting a one-day conference on, “The Role of Technology in Homeland
Security: A Forum of National Leaders.” Two prominent US Department of
Homeland Security personnel from Washington will be key speakers at this
event, including (recently confirmed by Congress) Dr. Charles E. McQueary,
Under Secretary for Science and Technology, and Dr. Randy Null, Chief
Technology Officer for Transportation Security Administration. The agenda
is packed with additional expert speakers who will provide insight on the
importance and role of technology in protecting our nation. We believe that
this is the first statewide initiative of this nature that is presented at
the national level.

The event is intended to be a forum for discussion, recommendations and
decisions on the role of Technology in Homeland Security and how Louisiana
can play an important role in this endeavor. Attendees are encouraged to
come prepared to enter a dialogue on the subject matter with the respective
speakers. Louisiana will play an important role in the Homeland Security
concerns addressing our country and we are proud that the federal
government is supporting Louisiana as the site for this important forum.
Organizations and attendees will also have a better understanding on the
business opportunities related to this endeavor.

We expect to broadcast this forum to designated areas throughout the State.
The goal of the LTC is to help Louisiana become a recognized leader in
Homeland Security initiatives, and your support of this forum will go a
long way in showing commitment to this cause.
