Good afternoon everyone. I just wanted to drop the user group a note to say hi and introduce myself.
My name is Bryce Pier and I'm a geek. ;-) I've just moved to Baton Rouge from Minneapolis to be the IT Manager for TFN, The Football Network. I've been a systems/network administrator for the last 10 years running both unix and windows systems. I'm a member of USENIX/SAGE and ISSA and plan to become involved in brlug. In case you haven't heard about TFN, we are a new 24x7 all-football-all-the-time cable and satelite network which will be going on the air in August. We are currently officed in the Louisiana Technology Park and will shortly be moving into our own space and constructing studios at the Bon Carre campus. We will be running an almost fully linux infrastructure utilizing linux servers, Neoware linux thin clients, KDE, StarOffice, and Oracle Collaboration Suite as well as Cisco IP Telephony. I will be looking for probably at least 1 admin and 1 help desk person in the near future. If you or anyone you know is interested in working for TFN, please contact me. I look forward to meeting all of you at an upcoming event. Now where can I get Guinness on tap in this town?? -- Bryce T. Pier [EMAIL PROTECTED] IT Manager TFN, The Football Network, Inc.
