Choppy, You can find PCMCIA 802.11b cards pretty cheap nowdays:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2F ws%2F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort& query=pcmcia+802.11b Lots of people are selling their used 802.11b cards for 11a or 11g now, so it's a good time to buy a used 802.11b. I bought my Orinoco Silver card new for ~$55 from techdepot.com almost a year ago. I like the Orinocos because they have an external antenna port on them (though I have yet to make a Pringles can antenna!). One of the coffee shops in Covington now offers wireless Internet with a drink. My wife has an older laptop with PCMIA port. Any idea how cheap one can get a wireless network card for laptop? I'd like to try out the service, but don't want to sink significant money into it. Choppy At 06:33 AM 6/2/03 -0500, John Hebert wrote: >Compact Flash - kinda like PCMCIA cards but smaller.
