Hi All, I log all traffic incoming to my firewall on the Cox network. On a wild hair I decided to do a search for one of the destination ports which was 17300. What I stumbled across was this web site: http://isc.incidents.org
more specifically I hit this link first (which by the way allows you to just change the port number in the URL so you can look at stats for any port.) http://isc.incidents.org/port_details.html?port=17300 Has anyone ever used this site for IP port info? The data is interesting although I really didn't spend much time trying to figure everything out. They draw some pretty graphs about port usage I guess. I'm not sure where they get the data from. Any comments? site good? site bad? Also, why would a virus writer register the IP port they use? Or is it that since it's such a widely found virus that the port nameing people decide to give it to the virus? -- Brad Bendily - CNA
