I've seen PCMCIA 802.11b cards for as little as $20 on sale. Radio Shack
on Florida had some Compaq USB wireless NICs for $25 on clearance the
other day when I went. USB cards can have an advantage over PCMCIA ones
because they are big enough to have larger antennas. Probably not an
issue within a coffee shop, but nice to have if you want to roam
outdoors from your access point.
