Maybe, but I see potential major problems.

1) The trend is bad. If Cox is really doing this because they are 
threatened, then how far behind will Bellsouth be? The powers that be 
(Microsoft, US government, Entertainment industry) want more control 
over the internet for money and control purposes.

2) The move to DSL is not fun. It's more expensive. It costs to switch. 
And you might not live near the CO.

I guess we could all go to Linux/ham radio :-) Let's see what would that 
bandwidth be....We could set up access points which are directly 
connected to the Net...sounds interesting.
