I'm told people were joking with the Portland Aerospace group about pointing their ~10' high rockets towards the microsoft vendor table. I never got a chance to meet up with Dustin or Shannon, but for me this Usenix was very rewarding. I ate lunch with Jon "Maddog" Hall (and had him sign my Newton), have incriminating photos of Eric Allman kissing me on the cheek, and got free beers out of Bdale Garbee as he discussed the growth of BSD, his work at HP, and the designs he's done for various amateur radio satellites (OSCAR, AMSAT, etc.) Then they had their end of conference party where too much alcohol and skin was being seen. For the sake of clarity though, "rewarding" also includes a number of good talks and sessions (particularly the Samba/LDAP & Debian-Guru runs.) Hope the others had a good time. Based on a conversation I just had with my boss, me and my cow-orker will likely be attending Lisa in October. -Jeff
